About Department
Department of Biotechnology came into existence in 2004 as an affiliated biotechnology school with Swami Ramanand Tirth Marathwada University, Nanded. The department is running one under-graduate and one post-graduate national level course in biotechnology which is quite competitive and is rated at a good level. The department also has university level Regional Biotechnology Research Centre with special focus on the research areas such as Plant Biotechnology, Medical Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, Medicinal Plants, Genetics and Molecular Biology.
Department is in the process of establishing the excellent infrastructure needed to carry out challenging experiments in emerging areas of life sciences. The department has an excellent reputation in Biotechnology teaching. The Department has Career Oriented Course in Plant Tissue Culture i.e certificate course, Diploma course and Advanced Diploma course in plant tissue culture for the Biotechnology Students.
