Nowadays farmer prefers different irrigation systems in which drip irrigation isprime.Drip irrigationhasthe potential to save water as well as provides nutrients to the roots of plant. But the existing drip irrigationmethod is not able to maintain the exact amount of moisture level in the soil; excess water is harmful for the crops.The aim (of this proposed system) is to increase efficiency of drip irrigation by minimizing wastage of water, electricity as well as the human efforts.The proposed system uses a moisture sensor to check the moisture of the soil.If this moisture is below the threshold level, sensor sends a signal to the microcontroller which indeed switches on the pump, hence the field gets watered and the moisture level of soil increases. If the moisture level is above threshold then sensor sends a signal to stop the pump. By using Android application we can get the current status of drip irrigation system on our Smartphone.
